| Learn How to
Bid:
You may want to get on our mailing list to receive our
monthly reminder and preview card by mail or through the internet.
To register, simply call us 803-387-5570, register online, or sign up at
the front registration desk at our next auction.
Registration:
In order to bid on any item you must register with
the auction. Registration adds your information into our auction
system and provides you with a bidder card. Without a bidder
number you cannot bid on items.
Preview:
Feel free to walk through the gallery and look at
all of the items. It's a good time to meet other people with
similar interests and staff is available to answer questions you may
have. Examine carefully those items that particularly interest
you. You must obtain a bidder card prior to bidding and this is an
ideal time to sign up at the registration desk.
We encourage you to arrive early to have time to
preview our items and to get a geed seat.
Leaving a bid in Absence:
You may leave an absentee bid if you can't or
don't want to be present during the auction. We bid for you and
usually don't start with your maximum bid. About 80% of the
successful absentee bids are sold for less than the maximum. It's
always better to be present, however.
Conditions of Sale:
The Conditions of Sale are the Rules and
Regulations that govern each auction. You can find the Conditions
of Sale clearly posted at each auction. If you have questions
concerning our conditions of sale please ask one of our staff members.
Set a Limit:
Decide in you mind roughly what your limit is on
the item. "If it sells for $200 or less, I'll buy it. If it
sells for more than $200, I don't want it." You don't have a lot
of time during the auction of that item to debate how much to spend.
Bidding:
Raise your card clearly showing your bidder number
until you get the item. Remember, there is an additional charge
(buyer's premium) added on all items, plus sales tax, unless you have a
valid resale license on file with us. Remember that a bid is a
contractual agreement - once bidding is over if you are the winning
bidder you are obligated to purchase the item at the winning bid price.
Please note that everything sold at Adams Auction Gallery begins at
least at a $5.00 minimum.
"As Is Where Is":
We make every effort to alert you to damage of an
item or blemishes during the auction. However, please note that
ALL items are sold AS IS WHERE IS. This is why it is recommended
that you carefully preview items you are interested in.
Pick Up Of Purchased Items:
All items should be paid for and picked up
preferably on the day of sale, but in any case, no later than 3 (three)
days after the auction, or a storage charge may be levied. You are
responsible for bringing your own boxes and packing material for the
small items, and your own crew to assist with the heavier items.
Our staff is not responsible for carrying the items to your vehicle.
